Wide selection, easy to compare listings, often the lowest advertised price.
Watch out
Vehicle quality varies wildly. Hidden charges (driver, generator, km overages, cleaning) add 40–60% to the headline price. No standardised toilet or water spec. You may not talk to the owner until day one.
Direct Operator

Six Questions to Ask Any Caravan Operator
These six items account for most of the gap between what you expect and what you get. Ask every one before you pay.
1. Does it have a working toilet?
Not a portable chemical toilet. Not a "toilet setup available on request." A flushing toilet with plumbing, connected to a black water tank, that works every day of your trip. Most Indian caravans do not have this. The Explorer does.
2. What is the km allowance?
100–150 km/day is common and tight for any real route. Ask if it pools across the booking. The Explorer gives you 300 km/day pooled — a 7-day trip means 2,100 km total, used however you like.
3. Is the driver included?
If not, add ₹800–1,500/day. And ask: is this their regular driver or a freelancer assigned that morning? Crew continuity matters on a multi-day trip.
4. Is generator/AC extra?
In Rajasthan or anywhere south, you need AC. If the generator is charged per hour or per day on top of the rental, add ₹500–1,500/day to your budget.
5. How much water?
50–100L tanks are common and run out in a day with showers and cooking. 500L (like The Explorer) lasts 3–4 days between refills — critical for desert or mountain routes where water isn't available.
6. Cleaning fee or deposit?
Cleaning fees (₹1,000–2,000) and damage deposits (₹10,000–25,000) are common. Ask upfront, and ask what the deposit covers and how disputes are handled.
