It Started With 60,000 Kilometres
Before My Rolling Homes was a company, it was a habit. Years of road trips across India — Rajasthan's back roads, the Manali–Leh highway, monsoon-washed ghats in the Konkan — taught us what road travel here actually demands: your own water, your own power, your own bathroom, and a driver who reads Indian roads like a local. Aman documented much of it on his YouTube channel, The Lazy Nomads, where thousands of travellers followed along and kept asking one question: “Where do I rent something like this?”
The Answer Didn't Exist. So We Built It.
We looked at every caravan and motorhome for hire in India and found the same compromises — toilets installed for the photoshoot, 200-litre water tanks for week-long trips, power systems that died without a campsite hookup (in a country with almost no campsites). The Explorer is our answer: 1000W of solar, a 4KVA genset, 500L of fresh water with RO purification, and a bathroom that works every single day. The only thing it needs from the world is a water top-up.
Why We Stay Small On Purpose
One flagship caravan, founder-operated. It means the person who quotes your trip is the person who owns the vehicle, knows the driver, and picks up the phone at a mountain pass. It means we say no to double-bookings and yes to birthday cakes in Jaisalmer. Boutique isn't our aesthetic — it's our operating model.
